Participants will be told if BV has been detected within a fortnight of the swab being collected. We will send you a letter advising you of your results. You will also access your results when you login online. Treatment can be arranged at MSHC or through your GP if you prefer. Treatment is with oral or vaginal antibiotics for 7 days.
When the study is complete we will look at how common BV is in the whole study group, and whether specific practices are related to BV. We expect the overall results to be available within a year of completion of the study. Following completion of the project, a copy of the overall results can be made available to you if you would like this.
